Most of the properties are booked well in advance and part of the travelling and renting costs are paid in advance. The cancellation insurance takes care of the renting costs if your holiday can not take place or if you have to return home unexpectedly during your holidays. In case of cancellation the hiring costs will be compensated. If you have to return home earlier than planned a proportional part of the rent in relation to the number of days missing holiday will be compensated. In case of a delay during travelling to your destination part of the hiring costs will be compensated, depending on the duration of the delay, up to a maximum of 5 days.

Compensation in case of cancellation or early return in following cases :

• death, serious acute illness/injury, which requires the insured, family/fellow traveller's hospitalization, confinement to bed ordered by a physician.
• fire or burglary at the insured's private residence or place of business.
• dismissal.
• unforeseen withdrawal of private means of transportation for the travel, by collision, fire or theft.

The insurance must be taken out when booking the property as described in the booking terms & conditions.

Claims procedures :

You have to inform us immediately by telephone. Besides this we require a cancellation letter by registered mail, indicating the reason of your cancellation together with documentation for the cause of cancellation (doctor's or death certificate, police report in case of fire or burglary). We will then inform the insurance company and they will contact you.

Which expenses are covered by the policy :
In case you have paid the total rent amount and you have a valid reason to cancel, the insurance company will compensate this amount.

In case of partial payment the insurance company compensates you the payment done and pays us the remainder.

Cancellation insurance fee :
The canceling insurance fees are 5% of the total rent plus administration costs.
