Quarante, named after the small river that flows through the village, is a lively village near the Canal du Midi. It has a magnificent abbey church dated from the 10th century and a great viewing point above the village. Quarante has two small grocers , two bars with terraces, a bakery and 3 dining options. The Cave Cooperative, at the edge of the village, offers you the possibility to taste and buy wine . During summer, the villagers regular organise parties with live music . Cruzy is one of the neighboring villages , you can go shopping here as well, there is a very good restaurant and on Friday you can go visit the the weekly market.
